The Season of Burning Things, excerpt
Commissioned by Bristol Old Vic a moving-image collaboration between myself and Gouled Ahmed. Unfolding from our perspective in the Somali diaspora, the piece takes the lead from East African mythos and Islamic imagery to explore mythmaking, Blackness; a ‘generation of ghosts’, water and the transient spirit.
